Week one on the job!
This week was the first where I had a little more independence over what work I was producing!
On Monday I got moved to a bigger patch, so now your gal runs the Humber show! 3 out of 5 days I was able to meet my VT targets (the lil zoom interviews you see on TV) so prep has been a massive part of this week.
I also am preparing for my screen tests! Who knows, in the imminent futuree, if your on Freeview in the Grimsby region, you may see me reading the news 💅
My next steps are to make sure I am hitting all my wee targets and also prioritising socials. I am getting everything done in time but next week I am on my own a bit more, so I want to make sure that my tasks are done without the development of any grey hairs 🙅♀️
Some highlights for me have deffo been the political reporting! I had the chance to interview 4 MP’s and Councillors last week. Political reporting on any platform has always been my goal and I was a bit worried there would be less opportunities in broadcast - in truth I have spoken more about politics in the last 4 days than in the last 4 years so no need to worry there it seems!
Mon: Scoot on over to Manch - the commute is the only down side of the job but honestly v temporary and VERY worth it bc the team were so nice, considering I almost rolled Trudy right into my coworkers car ❤️
Tues: Getting to Grips with everything. V much a day to soak it all in and have a go.
Spent the day wracking my wee brain for everything I could regurgitate about PremPro. At this point, I’m throwing around so many acronyms that I sound like I’m speaking Simish
Wends: Ratz, first independent day could have gone a wee bit better with interviews not quite going my way but as we know, “That’s TV” bby x
Thurs: Alas poor Maureen almost missed the news on Thursday because I missed a whole VT, Good thing a gal is v much saving PDF’s not lives 💅 The team were amazing though and gave some great pointers for the week ahead - where we will try and get Maureen a better show than last week!
Overall a gal cannot complain, (although if someone could come and stand on my lower spine that would be ace - I feel like the new desk job life is calling for my scoliosis to come back xoxox)
